Informa Brands Win Big at Prestigious US B2B Journalism Awards

NEW YORK: Teams and brands across Informa won a total of 14 awards at the 70th Jesse H. Neal Awards, held in New York on Friday 26 April. The wins include two leadership awards recognising standout individuals in their fields and 12 team prizes for categories across content and commentary.

Informa’s 14 2024 Neal Award wins are:

Restaurant Business won for its in-depth reporting on franchise businesses and for its range of work across Restaurant Business Online. Editor-in-Chief Jonathan Maze was awarded the 56th Annual G.D. Crain Jr. Award, which recognises a distinguished editorial career.

Commenting on his award and the success of Restaurant Business at the awards, Jonathan said, “I’m humbled by this whole experience. The Crain Award is a great honor. But it was even greater that my team is the one who nominated me, without my knowledge. I’m thrilled we won the top honor for a publication for the third time. It really says something about the quality of that group.”

WealthManagement.com won for its coverage of the collapse of Sillicon Valley Bank.

The Aviation Week brand was recognised for its Aerospace & Defense 2024 forecast issue. Joe Anselmo, Editorial Director of the Aviation Week Network said of their win: “This award was a recognition of the journalists, Aviation Week Intelligence Network data analysts and graphic artists who collaborated across our teams to make Aviation Week & Space Technology’s 2024 forecast issue so compelling. The Neal Awards are the most prestigious editorial honors in the field of specialized journalism, and we are privileged to be recognized along with our sister Informa publications.”

Industry Dive publications took home nine awards in total. “We’re grateful for the recognition from our peers in B2B journalism,” said Industry Dive’s Editor-in Chief, Davide Savenije. “The Industry Dive newsroom strives every day to produce the best coverage in our markets — and these honors reflect that.”

This includes BioPharma Dive reporter Gwendolyn Wu who was selected as the 2024 McAllister Editorial Fellow. BioPharma Dive was also recognised for its series on CRISPR medicine and reporting on the intersection of business and medicine. A further six Dives won awards: Food Dive won for its profile of ‘quiet dealmaker’ Rob Vitale, CEO of Post Holdings; Grocery Dive was recognised for its Pardon the Disruption column by Jeff Wells; Healthcare Dive’s investigation into hacked patient records won its award; senior reporter Daphne Howland won for her work in Retail Dive and Packaging Dive won for its coverage of the impact of digital printing technology.
